Nestled between the Vosges and the German Wine Route, blessed by sunshine and a particularly mild climate, the winery Altes Schlößchen in St. Martin stands already since four generations, for excellent wines from the Palatinate.
 

Located in hearth of the growing region Pfalz, right on the Haardt mountains around St. Martin and Maikammer are the vineyards. The soils are dominated by loam over red sandstone and calcareous Latvians. By sowing flowering grasses, clover and grains we try to maintain a healthy

soil structure and promote the establishment of beneficial insects in the vineyards.
 

Harvest of sound and ripe grapes, maturation on the berries before pressing to extract more flavour and a slightly
blush colour. The must is slowly temperature fermented
by 18 °C. After fermentation we leave the wine until March on the fine yeast.
 

Pale salmon colour, on the nose fresh strawberry, some herbs, fairly fresh and crisp on the palate with a nice dry finish. Best drunk young in the summer.

We recommend this Rosé to light salads, light pasta and rice dishes. Perfect also with seafood, grilled fish and goats’ cheeses. Perfect hot weather drinking.
