2019 Vintage.

Year 2019 was defined by heat and drought. After year 2018 with lots of rains, Nature seems to offset with hot days and our vines hardly resisted and followed its natural lifecycle. This vintage gave us lovely lush and deep wines.

The vines bud break was around last days of April, as other times in our region. That is a magical preciseness from our plants that we find admirable. During the spring, the usual frosts in the area did not miss their appointment during the first fortnight of May, and even in June.

Summer was extremely hot with very few rainy days, that finally appeared on September. Fortunately that rain helps the plants to complete maturation and earn weight and must yield. The extraordinary adaptability of the hardworking Soria vineyards shone in this vintage with fabulous results.

Winemaking.

The harvest was carried out between October 1st and 5th, we vatted the grapes in stainless steel tanks of 1,500 and 2,500 litres, without the addition of any sulphur, where fermentations took place with average macerations of 12 days. Fermentations occurred spontaneously without adding selected yeasts. We apply punching down and pumping over at the beginning of the process, intervening minimally on the cap for the rest of the fermentation.

Aging.

We rack the wine, removing the largest lees, and selecting the finest to accompany the wine during its aging in used 225-litre French oak barrels. The wine completed a total aging of 13 months, with racking twice a year.

The bottling was in June 2021, the total production was 6,160 bottles (0.75l).
